Campanula scheuchzeri Scheuchzer's Bellflower
This medium sized herbaceous perennial is quite a common plant in the Alps. It was named after the Swiss physician and naturalist Johann Jakob Scheuchzer who spent much of his time (18th century) trying to resolve the new discoveries of science with the Bible.
C. scheuchzeri can be violet, blue or rarely white and flowers throughout July and August.
