Asparagus officinalis ssp officinalis Garden Asparagus DD I
This plant used to be grown a great deal in West Lancashire so naturally some escaped into the dunes of Southport where it still flourishes. This was not really the time of year to see the plant in flower but a few flowers were still to be found on some plants.
It is common in England, occasionally found in Wales but rare in Ireland and Scotland.
