Arabis bellidifolia Daisy-leaved Wall-cress
This almost finished, wet, bedraggled specimen was the only one we saw as an example of its kind. A close-up photo of the leaves (hardly visble here) shows a rosette of spoon-shaped leaves very similar to those of the common daisy (Bellis perennis), hence the species name: bellidifolia.
In ther past Arabis bellidifolia has also been known as Arabis pumila (Dwarf Rock-cress). It can be found in the Alps and Apennines at heights of up to 9,000 feet.
