Aquilegia atrata Dark Columbine
The hooked spurs at the back of this dark purple Columbine flower are characteristic but there are other similar dark flowering species such as Aquilegia nigricans with which Aquilegia atrata could be confused. This species grows in the Alps and the Apennines at heights of up to 6,500 feet.
