Alkanna orientalis Oriental Alkanet
Typical of the Boraginaceae, Alkanna orientalis is covered in both patent and glandular hairs on the leaves and in the throat of the yellow flowers. It is an eastern Mediterranean and near eastern plant found in Turkey, Iran, Lebanon-Syria, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
This species is var orientalis which is distinguished from var leucantha which has white or dull white flowers and is a Turkish endemic.
