Alkanna graeca   Greek Alkanet

Alkanna graeca whole Alkanna graeca close

Like so many members of the Boraginaceae, this is coarsely hairy plant. The flowers are quite large proportionately and its floriferous nature means it can be a very attractive plant on rocky or sandy soils in the wild. It grows in a restricted area of the Mediterranean basin, mostly in Greece and the islands, Bulgaria and the old southern Yugoslavian countries.
