Ajuga reptans Bugle
More usually associated with shady places such as under hedgerows or in woods in the British Isles, this creeping plant is as often found in the open on the continent although on stony hillsides like this one, the shade can be provided by the small area under the rocks.
One reason for the English name is that the flowers are supposed to resemble the bell of a bugle (can't see it myself) but the Latin name Ajuga is possibly a derivation of the Latin "To drive away" referring to its supposed qualities as a medicinal herb driving away disease.
