Aethionema speciosum

There are quite a few pinkish, similar looking members of the Brassicaceae family known as Stonecresses in this part of Turkey, so we were lucky to have a distinguished botanist leading our group who could tell them apart. There are two sub-species in this genus but we didn't attempt to separate them here.

Aethionema speciosum occurs mostly in eastern Turkey, occasionally in western Turkey and in Iraq.
