Ranunculus kochii
In a very muddy area high in the mountains, we found these small alpine members of the Ranunculaceae family. The glossy leaves and golden yellow flowers make this plant attractive enough to be sold by various nurseries and garden centre. It is a tuberous species often found near melting snow in eastern Turkey, western and northern Iran.
