Lycopodium clavatum Stag's-horn Clubmoss C DD N
This plant is found in mountain or sub-montane regions but tend to be found in grassy places amongst other vegetation. I rarely see this plant on bare rock. The leaves tend to be prostrate and branched (LHS) with the erect stems looking like a stags horns supposedly.
Lycopodium clavatum is common in Scotland and Wales and in the more mountainous regions such as the Lake District and the northern Pennines in England. It is far less common where the hills are low in southern England. It is dotted here and there but uncommon in Ireland.
