Podolepis lessonii whole Podolepis lessonii close

Endemic to Australia and found all over the continent, this genus of plants in the Asteraceae family provides some of the spectacular ephemeral splashes of colour in Spring - particularly in Western Australia. This yellow species was dotted amongst hundreds of thousands of pink Schoenia cassiniana (Schoenia) at this reserve.

The species name lessonii is named after René Primevère Lesson a nineteenth century botanist, pharmacist and herpetologist.
