Euphorbia hyberna   Irish Spurge R DD N

Euphorbia hyberna

We found only a few plants at this site but later on driving round the Ring of Kerry there were plenty of clumps in nearby fields just coming into flower. It is very easy to spot.

E. hyberna has a strange distribution in that it is quite common in the south west corner of Ireland but rarely found elsewhere on the island. It has been recorded from one or two places in England (escapes probably) but not at all from Wales or Scotland.
