Cupressus sempervirens whole Cupressus sempervirens close

This is a common tree in Crete particularly in the hills of the Lefki Ori (White mountains) where it often grows stunted by the conditions. It is probably native in Crete but has been used for ornamental purposes in parks and gardens beacuse when allowed to flourish it grows tall in an elegant columnar slightly pyramidal shape.
