Celastrina argiolus   Holly Blue

Celastrina argilous Celastrina argilous on wisteria

The Holly blue visits our garden more often than the Common Blue probably because we have only have a little Bird's-foot Trefoil (Lotus corniculatus) growing nearby but plenty of Ivy and Holly. It is always on the move though or perching in an inaccessible tree or these days in the Wisteria. This time it perched, wings folded, waiting for the sun and I managed to get stepladders out in time to get reasonably close.
